Ryse Gold – Movement

“You have to leave behind the exhausting pursuit of exercise for the sake of exercise and discover the beautiful balance between health and performance.”

― Ben Greenfield

The movement that you do should help you feel energised, happy and confident and feel more connected in mind, body, soul.

Like nutrition, the movement that we prefer and enjoy and is best for our genetic makeup and body type is very individual. We have to find what feels right for us and what we enjoy most.

At Ryse Gold, we offer a good mix of both high intensity classes and restorative classes for balance. Our bodies crave to be moved in different ways.

We offer online yoga and HIIT classes, aswell as studio group classes at Southwick, Brighton and bespoke one to one yoga and fitness coaching.

Please note all online classes are free for key workers during COVID-19.

Hot Hatha Yoga 60

Hatha Yoga

This is a yoga class based on the Hatha yoga series, where the same 26 yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises are practised each class. Typically practised just to the voice instruction of the teacher but some of the classes will be with music.

In the 60 minute class, most postures are practised twice, some once and while it is a cardiovascular series, it is also suitable for beginners to yoga. Practising in a heated room allows for safer & deeper stretching allowing us to improve flexibility faster & go deeper in to tension in the body.

This particular hatha yoga series has numerous benefits including detoxification, healing, stress reduction, toning, increased general well-being & energy & weight loss. Many students find it comforting that the same postures are practised each time allowing you to really become familiar with the sequence and see how quickly your body and mind change for the better with consistent practise.

The yoga shred series is a safer joint anatomy-focused blend of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Yoga flow. The class is based on tabata timing, where we bring the heart rate up for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds in between sets, doing 4-8 rounds of each activity. A fun class, you will build strength, tone your body and boost energy.

There is a lot of great research on the tabata timed training technique in terms of weight loss and cardiovascular health. Even though we are working the body for less time, the body continues to burn calories up to 48 hours after your session. HIIT gives students the cardio, muscle definition and tone, super-strength and calorie burn, yet many existing HIIT moves/classes are badly aligned and too aggressive on the joints. Get all the benefits of High Intensity Interval training with less impact on the joints in this fun class.

Yin Yoga 60

YIN YOGA 60

Yin yoga is a great addition to the Hot Hatha yoga yang style class, to allow us to balance our Yin and Yang energies.

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.

Norman Blair, who I trained with in London, describes it as “the perfect antidote for modern stressful lives”.  This is a slow, quiet class, you’ll be asked to settle into sensation. Take enquiries into your body, your breath and the issues within your tissues as you relax into what is. A fabulous class for settling the nerves after a stressful day.

This program will be booked for a duration of 6 weeks in groups of 7 people per group.

The program includes a cold sea swim at Southwick, 20 minute HIIT class on the beach & a 60 minute hot yoga session in the Hot yoga garage in Southwick directly after.

You will do this 3 times per week for a period of 6 weeks and there will be a few options on days and times available.

We will do one group at sunrise and one at lunchtime.

Confirmation coming soon on start date, pricing, available time slots and days, once we have more clarity on lockdown & social distancing rules.

You can contact us and register your interest in this program HERE in the meantime. We welcome your feedback as to what days and times you would prefer at this time.
